Obaapa Christy, others for Poolside Praise

On Saturday, March 5, the poolside of the University of Ghana, Legon, will host this year’s Poolside Praise, the annual Christian entertainment event.

And to make ‘party’ jam, gospel artistes, Obaapa Christy, Cwesi Oteng, Gifty Osei, Joe Mettle, Francis Amo, Jay Shady and Nii Okai will mount the stage to do what they know best.

That is not all, the 2 pm event, dubbed, “The Team Play Edition” will also feature Akesse Brempong, Jonn Winner, Denzel, Uncle Ato,Selina Boateng, OJ, Regardless, SP Kofi Sarpong, Esaias and Kingzkid.

Speaking with Showbiz on Monday, Mensah Philip, Director of Events and Productions Manager of Footprints TV, organisers of the event, “the relevance of the event is to bring together the Christian Youth to praise God, interact with gospel artistes and give young gospel artistes the opportunity to share in the ‘ceremonial spotlight of their  seniors’..

“This year’s event is to give thanks to God for all that He has done for us as individuals, corporate entities and as a nation.

“Also, it is to create a fun-filled atmosphere for Ghanaians to enjoy after months of hard work and to change the minds of people who have lost hope in the country to have faith since all isn’t lost,” he added.

He revealed that there would be free health screening exercise on the same day of the event. “We believe that in order to praise God, one must be healthy in body, soul and spirit,’’ he said. This year’s Poolside Praise is sponsored by Upswing Music, Tbest Drinks, Eddys Pizza and Mama Vits Rice and Noodles.
