Xorlali in Xorlali Praise

 By Forgive Adjoa Eorfoe

Coming Sunday,January 10, gospel musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong and others will storm the Prince of Peace Catholic Church building at Kwashieman, Accra, to grace the  launch of  a single by upcoming gospel artiste,Esther Xorlali Ameke
The Aposor hitmaker will be joined by  Paul Wanbantem of  Yehowa fame  and others  to launch   the single, Xorlali Praise, a medley of praise songs.
Miss Ameke

A product of Holy Child Senior High School and a Sociology and Linguistics graduate of the University of Ghana, Esther  Xorlali  Ameke, who is now with Great Argon Holdings, told Showbiz  God’s faithfulness and love towards her is what made her to sing as a form of gratitude.

‘’I just want to express my gratitude to Him in a form of praise, in my dialect. We’ve heard of a lot of praise medleys in English and in the Akan languages,so I thought why don’t I do something unique by singing in my dialect to show my appreciation?’’,she stated.

Xorlali Praise is made up of a medley of praise songs like Akpenawo, Yehowah, Melozozo, Mawu Nke he sia, all in the Ewe language and Aseda in Akan. Like the medley they are, they all touch on the importance ofpraising God and deciding to follow God because He never leads anyone astray.
The single, which opens with danceable tunes underscored by traditional Ewe drumming and dancing and  ends on the same note, making for  a delightful music experience to the ears, is produced by CMS Productions at CMS Studio and at Jmorgans Studio.

Cwesi Oteng (middle) and Flo’ Riva

They have been “obedient servants” to contemporary gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng where they have backed the latter in all his songs and now, the group Flo‘ Riva believes they are ripe to hit the gospel scene with their own release.
That ‘vim’  urged them on to come out with their debut song, Yahweh (My Everything) three weeks ago.
Although it is new, the song, which talks sabout God’s provision for mankind and the need for people to depend on Him in times of difficulty has already earned the Song of the Week by Praise World Radio in Nigeria.
The group has seen some changes by way of members over the years but it has always been consistent with its support for Cwesi and in turn kept the group’s vision alive while patiently preparing to enter the music arena.
Cwesi Oteng told Showbiz, “Flo’Riva is my music band and I envisioned years ago that it will be an amazing group when the time is due. A group I have always trusted since the beginning by virtue of the passionate belief they had in God and how hugely gifted everyone in the group was and still is.
“I know they will produce songs that will reach the hearts of men and touch them with the life of God because these are talented young guys and ladies who are committed to what they do”.
Cwesi Oteng who featured on the song said, “the group took many years to release Yahweh (My Everything) and I am not surprised with the positive impact it is making just a few weeks after its release”.
