Dubbed, “ Celebrating
the Salvation of the Lord”, this year’s edition will also host award winning
gospel artiste, Joe Mettle, Jojo Arhin and the host, Maranatha Students and
Associates Fellowship (MASAF) choir. Hiplife artiste turned preacher, Lord
Kenya, will also be present to minister the word.
The fourth in series, Soteria
is a greek word which means Salvation. It began in 2010 as a prayer summit.
Soteria 2016, however, is being held as a concert to reach out to millions of
people through music.
Organised by MASAF
under the auspices of Maranatha Evangelistic Ministries, Soteria has hosted
seasoned singers like OJ, Anita Afriyie, Akesse Brempong, Jojo Arhin and
Brother Sammy in previous editions.
In an interview with Showbiz last
Friday, Daniel Gyimah Asante, the chairman of Soteria 2016 planning committee
said, “We want to offer the lost and hopeless the opportunity to receive
Christ, therefore, we are staging this year’s Soteria as a gospel concert to
propagate the salvation message of Jesus through music.”
Daughters of Glorious
Jesus is made up of Cynthia Appiadu (lead singer), Edna Sarpong and Monica
Owusu Ansah. Their debut album, Anwanwa do, was released in the 1990 and since
then, they have won awards through a number of hit songs and albums. Some of
their songs, Mebo wo din daa, Edin no, Asomdwe hene, Bebree are what patrons
expect to sing and dance along to when they mount the stage.
