What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done with your partner?- Relationship corner

I remember my girlfriend and I stole one of her mother’s hens to cook without her knowledge till date.
I had gone to visit my girl that day and had suggested we pound fufu, though both of us were very low on cash. We, however, managed to pull resources together for the cassava and the other ingredients, but there was no meat for the soup.

Her mother had a hen coop full of the birds and we had to wait for her to leave the house before carrying out our ‘deed’
We quickly ‘balanced’ one of the hens for our soup and afterwards, rid ourselves of any evidence of the act by releasing the rest of the hens to go out in search for food.
Later that night, the hens came back to roost, except the one in our soup. My girl and I volunteered as the search party to go in search of the hen, and came back to tell her mum of the missing hen after going to sit somewhere for an hour.
Till date, the woman still looks for her ‘missing’ hen.

My boyfriend and I don’t mind teasing or making a fool of ourselves when we’re together.
I remember that one of the craziest things that we do together is to intentionally cook meals with a lot of gas like beans and eggs in order to smell which of us has the stinkiest farts.
We actually do it like an ongoing competition.
Another thing is that, initially I could not burp in his presence but rather fart whenever I have a stomach ache in order to release gas without him noticing.
He once asked me why I don’t normally fart in his presence till we’re having our ‘competition’. Since then, whoever walks into my house will find us lying on the floor with our asses up and farting the day away, especially if one of us has stomach ache.

My girlfriend and I once spent the night at the seashore after partying hard at a night beach party.
Here in Ghana, we believe that certain spirits dwell in the sea and come out at midnight to hunt for people. There are also beliefs of people doing rituals and other spiritual stuff at the seashore at night.
My girlfriend and I defied all those fears, made love at the beach till we were exhausted and slept there till daybreak. Now, that’s some crazy thing if you ask me.
I also remember us breaking into a hotel storage room and making away with assorted foodstuffs and electrical gadgets.
We had gone for a trip and were taken to a hotel to spend the night before continuing the next day. While there, we chose to ‘tour’ the other hotel rooms instead of sleeping and ended up stealing. We were not caught though.

The craziest thing my partner and I have done before was making love during a heated argument.
She had come to visit me without my knowledge and I was very unhappy with that.
So, when she came to the room and I questioned her, she became very offended and we had a bitter quarrel.
In the midst of the quarrel, however, she starting kissing me and before I realised, we were making love.
I ‘pounded’ her very well that day like never before and afterwards, she confessed that I made her ‘see heaven’

My boyfriend and I did something sometime ago that I think is the craziest.  We decided to go for lunch together, like a sort of date. He ended up coming so late and kept me waiting for so long at the restaurant that we just sat across each other and ate without uttering a word.
We came home in same way with that silence. I guess it was because I wanted to demonstrate how furious I was for his lateness.

The craziest thing I did with my partner was to walk to a policeman and ask him where we could get sex toys to buy.
The poor police man thought we were going crazy or we were out of our minds.
Another crazy thing my boyfriend and I do together periodically is to check which of us has the stinkier breath after waking up in the morning.
Sometimes, we could go the whole day without brushing our teeth.
We also smell our shoes to see whose feet smell worse.

I used to be a womaniser, and I remember that in one of my escapades, I did something very crazy with my partner.
In order to see her and make love to her, I travelled that long distance from Sege to Asutuare, although I had no idea where exactly she lived in Asutuare.
Fortunately for me, while looking everywhere for her in Asutuare, I met a friend and also located my partner, and that friend gave us a place to spend the night.
After enjoying throughout the night and leaving for Sege the next morning, my friend called to tell me that he had been attacked for housing my girl and I.
The truth was, my girl was dating someone else without my knowledge and that person brought people to beat me because I had come to sleep with his girl. Fortunately, I had escaped.

My partner and I have done a lot of sexual stuff together that I call crazy. One of them was giving her Spanish flower and I taking Viagra in order to sustain our libidos for prolonged pleasure.
That day, we had watched pornography together and had practised the various sex positions. We, however, wanted to practise more positions as we kept watching the videos, so we took those sexual enhancement drugs.
I also remember that my girl and I once had sex in an oiled bed. We oiled both the bed and our bodies in order to get a new sexual experience.

Voice Academy is here again

By Forgive Adjoa Forfoe
Thursday, 26 May 2016 14:11
The annual edition of Voice Academy is coming off this Saturday, May 28, in Accra at the City Escape Hotel.
The Voice Academy is a training workshop and platform for singers from all musical backgrounds and professionals in the industry as well.
Organised by Pastor Mrs Hellen Yawson of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) on the  Spintex Road, the academy is aimed at training musicians to cultivate the art of music professionally.
Rev Mrs Hellen Yawson
This year’s edition will feature two resource persons; David Brew, a music director and  keyboardist and Kpabitey Kofi, Chief Executive Officer  of BYTE Productions and a music director. The two are expected to  coach musicians on how to use their voice as an “instrument”.

Some of the topics that will be discussed at the Voice Academy are  : “How to prevent vocal strain”, “Vocal health”, “Vocal warm ups and breath management exercises” and “vocal improvisions”.
In an interview with Showbiz on Monday, Mrs Hellen Yawson said the need to nurture a new generation of musicians was a source of strength to start the academy.
‘‘I started this voice academy because I noticed that a lot of singers were unaware of how to manage and maximise their singing abilities. As a professional who has been singing in church for almost 30 years, I think musicians must give off the best of their vocals which is the most important tool of every good artiste,” she stated.
Describing the Academy as a “God given vision”, Mrs Yawson said it was  her desire to impart the new generation with her talent as a musician for the good of the industry.
Previous editions of Voice Academy have seen patronage from choirs, choir directors and individual singers and have also had experienced singers such as Danny Nettey and Denzel Agyemang Prempeh as resource persons.

My competitors are scary - MzVee on BET nomination

By Forgive Adjoa Forfoe

She’s arguably the biggest thing now in Ghana when it comes to the femme fatales of the music industry. And with this accolade, it wasn’t surprising when MzVee was nominated in the Best International Africa, Act in the Black Entertainment Awards (BET) last week.
Though good news for the Ghanaian music industry, the reigning VGMA Female Vocalist of the Year has described her competitors in the category as “scary.”
MzVee

The talented MzVee is coming up against the likes of Nigeria’s Yemi Alade and Wizkid, Diamond Platinum, Casper Nyovest, Black Coffee and South Africa’s AKA.
“Truthfully, my competitors are scary and I feel intimidated. I won’t lie. The people in that category are scary good and really excellent at what they do. They all deserve to be there as well and have been there years before I even came into the music industry. But it’s also a good sign that MzVee is working hard,” the Natural Girl artiste said in an interview with Showbiz last Monday.
According to MzVee, even though she is intimidated by their “scary status” and the successes her “rivals” have chalked up in the African music industry and beyond the shores of the continent over the years, she is hopeful to retain the award in Ghana.
She said Stonebwoy had a similar story last year and was completely written off because of those he was competing with  but at the end, he took the award and brought it home to Ghana.
“I believe I can win the BET award. I know from the support I’m getting from my fans here in Ghana. I feel very intimidated but I believe with the level of support from my fans here, this year’s BET International Act, Africa award would be mine,” she stated.
Her nomination was greeted with mixed feelings from Ghanaians particularly, when artistes such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, who are ruling the airwaves with their songs, lost out.
But the current Lynx Entertainment first lady believes her hard work earned her a slot in the category.
‘‘I earned it with my hard work and I believe I deserve it. I think anything good happening to someone is because they worked hard for it and deserved it. My hard work is a testimony of all good results and successes I’m enjoying these few years of my existence in the industry. I don’t think it is luck at all.
“Besides, I’m the first female artiste from Ghana to make it to the BET Awards. I was nominated in the Viewer’s Choice Best International category last year and that gingered me to work harder this year. Now, I feel the pressure to live up to expectation because I think it’s an honour to be nominated,” she stated.

A member of the defunct D3 trio group, MzVee shot to fame in 2014 with her debut solo single titled Borkorborkor, which featured Lazy of VVIP fame.
She has worked over the years to earn some awards among which include the VGMA New Artiste of the Year last year. Some of the songs she has to her credit are Show Me, Everything, Real Woman, Can’t Wait, Abofra, and Come Over.

Don’t push us into your politics — Kdei camp

Bisa- refuses any political affiliations

By Forgive Adjoa Forfoe

It’s an election year and already, the political scene is heated up with various political songs intended to attract voters. One such song that is currently making waves is Bukom Banku’s version of Bisa Kdei’s Brother Brother.
A popular highlife tune which enjoyed huge patronage in the year under review, Brother Brother’s lyrics has been on the lips of everyone and Bukom Banku’s rendition is surely a smart move to get attention to his favourite presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

It, however, appears the management of Bisa Kdei isn’t pleased with the development. In an interview with Showbiz on Tuesday, Mr  Emmanuel Arhin, a member of Kdei’s management team and his publicist who spoke on behalf of the Mansa hitmaker warned such “defaulters” to desist from the practice.
“Please, we don’t want anyone to push us into their politics. This is not our mission for our artiste whose music is being enjoyed and supported by people from the various political divide. We want to state that no one has been given permission to use Kdei’s song for their campaign and we are not behind this new development.
“It’s understandable that the song is that popular and as such, will attract people but it‘s only legal to seek the permission of the owner of the intellectual property being used to champion your interest,” he stated.
Interestingly, Bukom Banku isn’t the only one guilty of the “crime”. Another citizen has done his version of the song to promote the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.
The trend, according to Mr Arhin, is quite worrying.
“As a management team, we are yet to take a decision. I think this is unethical and people shouldn’t be encouraged to live on the sweat of others.
“Bisa Kdei is at the peak of his career and the last thing we as a team would want to push our client to do is to endorse a political party or candidate. He’s always said that he has no political affiliation and has every right to do so just as those who want to openly declare their political stance,” he stated.
Celebrities endorsing political parties and candidates have been a regular feature in the country’s elections but it seems the act isn’t one that is appealing to Bisa Kdei.
When asked if “sorted out well” by any of the political parties to campaign for them, Bisa would heed to the call, this is what he had to say “Kdei is a brand we have built to appeal to all people irrespective of the political or social background.
“This is not the time to divide his fan base because of his support for one against the others. Kdei will use his platform to promote unity and political tolerance”.
Currently on a tour in the US, Kdei was one of the big winners at the recently held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) where he “bagged” four awards - Best highlife song, Highlife artiste of the Year, Most Popular song and Album of the year Award.
Prior to that, he had been a recipient of the Best Movie soundtrack of the year at the Ghana Movie Awards in 2012 and the Akoben Movie Awards in the same year.
